Burns Trust Party – Ten Years Post Bali Bombings

With special thanks to our sponsors, the NAB, Coopers Brewery, Johnston Winery and Network Ten we raised an awareness of burn injury, of the Burns Trust and much needed funds to support our prevention programs and campaigns. We also used this opportunity to present two new Life Members the Greenwood/Kavanagh award for their outstanding contribution to the Burns Trust.

Our new Life Members are:

Frank Lancione

A founding Director of the Burns Trust, Frank's legal and business expertise and guidance provided a solid structure for our organisation to grow and succeed.

 Ian Hill

Ian has been instrumental in initiating and driving many Lions Australia and Burns Trust joint initiatives, resulting in hundreds of thousands of dollars having been raised to support our local hospitals and individuals living with burn injury. we thank them for their on-going support and dedication to the Burns Trust.

Bucks for Burns – Clipsal by Schneider Electric

50 cents from every hard wired Clipsal smoke alarm installed by Club Clipsal members goes directly to reducing the incidence and impact of burn injury through our Community Grants program. This year, with the support of Club Clipsal members, $108,964 was distributed as Community Grants across the country to support innovative prevention and care programs.

City to Bay - Key Invest

As an annual event, the City to Bay is an ideal opportunity for corporates to support their staff in getting fit and fundraising for a cause. This year we would like to thank Key Invest as our major partner and sponsor of the Burns Trust team. Together, with 75 walkers and runners, we raised $7,000 to support our work on community. A special mention goes to the Royal Adelaide Hospital Burns Unit team for their participation and support.

Bosch/Gasworks – Raising Awareness of Burns in Young Children

Scalds are the main cause of burn injury in young children, many of who are burned through hot water systems in bathrooms. The partnership between Bosch and Gasworks stores across South Australia help us to raise awareness through their High Flow Hot Water System campaign where $50 from each Bosch hi-flow hot water system sold during May-June is donated to the Burns Trust. This year, with local community support, the campaign raised $5,379 while helping to keep our families safer.
