Phil Mount - 2014

Phil Mount was awarded the Greenwood Kavanagh Award at the 2014 "Splash of Colour" Burns Ball on Friday 17 October. Phil has been a part of the Julian Burton Burns Trust family for many years. He has played an integral role in our community events and continues to volunteer his time in an assortment of ways.

Phil, an avid sub 3 hour marathon runner in his day, has also been involved in a number of Burns Trust Challenges including the Burns Trust Kokoda Trek in 2006, the Burns Trust Great Wall of China Marathon Team in 2011 and more recently in the 2014 Burns Trust Melbourne Marathon Challenge on the 12th of October.

We would like to thank Phil for his ongoing contribution to the Burns Trust.

FIRST AID QUICK GUIDE
In an emergency call 000
1. REMOVE
Remove any clothing and jewellery from the affected area to allow effective cooling of the burn.
2. COOL
Cool the burn under cool running water for 20 minutes - this will stop the burning process and also help ease the pain.
3. COVER
Cover the burn with a clean lint free cloth or if it is a large area, cover loosely with cling wrap to lessen the chance of infection.
4. SEEK
Seek medical advice if the burn is larger than a 20 cent piece or on the face, hands, feet or groin area.
